2015: A Year in Review

What a wonderful year it has been! When you’re in it, you sometimes wonder, “Am I even accomplishing anything?” It’s not until you look back that you forget the bad stuff, and are able to really celebrate all of the magical happenings! That’s pretty much how this year was for me. Go, go, go, and go-go dance the pole some more. Then you wake up and realise you’ve got your hot pink bikini thong stuffed with dollar bills. Well, let’s just say 2015 let me holla for a dolla and then some! I feel like a certified billionaire!

I'm going rogue and picking my own Best of 2015 Instagram images! 1. By far the best thing that happened this year was getting engaged to @adam_sparkles! 2. I got paid an honest amount to make this beautiful #amhfeathers quilt. 3. I was blessed to work with amazing people around the globe for the #sewingforsydney project. 4. Mood Ring quilt is still a favourite of mine and the recipient. 5. I signed up to participate in round two of the #NGAQB2 with my humble #unicorn (pattern by @quietplay). 6. I stood on the giant shoulders of my brethren to make tangerine magic with my border addition for @crimsontavid. 7. I got asked to be a #Juki brand ambassador and worked with @sewingmachinewarehouse at the #sydneycraftandquiltfair. 8. I won a first place ribbon at the #modernquiltshowau for my #NVDNEF #quilt. 9. And finally, I now have my own regular column in #TextileFibreForum magazine. Seriously, what a freaking amazing year!!!

I posted this picture on Instagram as part of the 2015 Best Nine craze sweeping the IG community. I edited it a bit to suit my own tastes, and then it’s gone on to actually be one of my 2015 Best Nine pictures. Irony. So I thought I’d repost it here, and then add a few other honourable mentions. I do this not to brag, but so that I can look back in tough spots of 2016 and know that things really do work out for the better, even when you don’t think they are. This will be my last post of 2015, and as I slide into the new year, I hope your celebrations treat you as well as mine. Remember, champagne is always the answer.

Wow, your quilts are gorgeous! I stumbled here after searching “quilt pricing” and found your fabulous Walmart quote on Moore Approved. 🙂 It sealed the deal for me to charge a fair price and I’m “sew” grateful! Can’t wait to see what you make in 2016. Cheers!
