Sunday Stash #279 – Come On!
Well the last seventy-two hours have been an interesting whirlwind! Australia suddenly has a new cluster of COVID19 growing in the northern beaches of Sydney. Local governments are acting quickly to contain it, so new restrictions have started to come into place. While new case numbers are still less than one hundred, I think everyone in Australia is quite astute in doing whatever it takes to prevent exponential growth. Mr. Sparkles and I had rescheduled our honeymoon for next week (after the first was COVID19-cancelled in March), and it looks like it’s going to be cancelled again. Ha! Oh well, I’ll just sip Mai Tais on my balcony instead.
On top of that, my dad, brother, aunt, and cousin in Oklahoma were all diagnosed with COVID19 this past week. Can you even believe that?! Australia seems like the safest place to be these days! My aunt now has pneumonia. She was sent home from the hospital less than a day after arriving and told to come back next week. Like, America, come on. My eyes are doing somersaults at your behaviour.
Despite all of this, I got some fabulous fabrics from my local quilt shop recently! They were having their semi-annual 25% off sale, so I swooped in for some Alison Glass pieces. These are all half metres from her Sun Print or Handcrafted collections. Oh wait — that top one is one of her Mariner’s Cloth! I picked it up because I thought it would go really well with the Giucy Giuce Entwine collection I showed you a few weeks ago. The only other odd one out is that gold and navy stripe from Rashida Coleman-Hale for Ruby Star Society. It’s metallic: of course I bought the entire end of bolt!
With this restock, I’m ready to just hang out indoors, play with my fabrics and the let the world sort itself out. I’d recommend you do the same.
LOL eye roll – when we travel I just tell people I’m from Germany or France or outer Slobovia (not even sure if that’s a place!)
LOVE LOVE LOVE THE FABRIC. Quilting what has kept me sane. Shopping vicariously through you!
Well, here in my state (Arizona) Me and my husb have been home in isolation since early March. Only Dr. visits, Costco runs and grocery store, and EVERYTHING with a mask. Things a awful here and not getting better.
Love your fabrics. I’m trying to use up as much of my stash as I can, but it’s pretty easy to just order what I “need”
Love you Molli.
Covid 19 goes up and down. Watching the healthcare workers getting immunized. They have had a tough road. Especially in the US. I hope your family have a milder case of Covid 19. Now onto fabric. I have been off work with a hip replacement. Nothing fills my heart more than a good romp through my fav online shops. So… because you are an enabler I happily parted with some $ and got me some Alison Glass fabric. Can’t wait until it arrives. Merry Christmas Molli and Adam.
Sorry to hear you have family dealing with Covid in Oklahoma. I have a brother who lives there and I worry everyday for him. Here in Washington we have been on quarantine since March.
Love your fabric purchases. Especially the ones with the dots. I’m fairly new to your sight but enjoy hearing from you and about your life and work. Hope you get that honeymoon soon.
Sending positive thoughts your way for your ill family members. You two stay safe and well. Eventually this dreadful scourge will be knocked down.
