Sunday Stash #276 – Dust Yourself Off
It’s been a hot minute since my last Sunday Stash! Honestly though, I haven’t bought any fabrics, or you know I would have shown them to you. At the rate I’ve been sewing–which is quite a lot–my stash in expected to be depleted by the end of summer in two thousand and never. It’s like that y’all. But what’s a boy to do when he sees the pretties? Obvs. Buy them all.
So to dust off the Sunday Stash doldrums, have a gander at these new Liberty of London tana lawns that I got from The Strawberry Thief! Wham, bam, thank you miss ma’am, because these are bay-you-ta-full. Clockwise from the top we have: Royal Oak House A, Prospect Road X, Sky High A and Grand Bazaar C. I could probably have done with just Prospect Road X, but what’s the point of Aus Post going to all the trouble for such minimal contents of a package. Nope! Fill it up!
I’m not a huge fan of the traditional Liberty frilly flower designs, or other motifs in that world (you know what I’m talking about). William Morris just rolled over in his grave. However, any time I see Liberty whip out bold colours, mod designs, or character driven features, I’m all in! Well, I’m all in to the tune of fat quarters because that’s all I can afford of Liberty of London! These have gone straight into my Liberty of London collection which will someday make a quilt just for me. That is until Mr. Sparkles feels it, and then it will be just for him.
So I went to the Strawberry Thief (website) and “Haberdashery”! Really? Then “scraps for crochet?” Isn’t there a law about that? Your choices are yummy with extra sprinkles. Thanks for sharing and making us all envious!!!!!
I love the Liberty fabrics you chose – and you are correct. The cost and patterns dissuade me from purchasing them. But there is something about the the quality of the fabric that is appealing. And William Morris – not a huge fan. Not enough lime green and teal to make my blood sing. So glad to hear from you. And how is Mr. Sparkles doing post surgery. Got to be tough. Nice to see the lockdown end in AUS.
Beautiful fabrics, I am with you not a huge Liberyt fan and boy that cost a lot!!
Sorry for the spelling mistakes, fumble fingers here today!! Should read Liberty and they cost a lot!!
I took a day trip to London 2014 and visited the Liberty shop, just for the experience – the fabric was too expensive but the building was priceless – just beautiful <3
