Sunday Stash #260 – Hey Old Friend
Are you ready for the trippy fact of the day that’s gonna give your mind a screaming mimi? It’s been exactly seventy days since my last Sunday Stash post. Wha-wha-wha!? Seventy days, y’all! That’s ten weeks! Let me break that down again for you: I haven’t bought any fabric in ten whole weeks. I think I’m sitting here having an out of body experience about it right now. I’m looking at myself going, “Who is that shadow of a fabric-loving human you’ve been pretending to be?!” Y’all know I’ve been a lil bit distracted, but still, I’m not buying my own excuses. Instead, I had to go buy me some fabric to make up for it!
Mr. Sparkles and I went for a walk around our neighbourhood, and lo and behold we just happened (wink-wink) to walk by Bev’s Remnant House. This is one of my fave fabric shops because it is somewhat of an op-shop of upholstery fabrics rather than traditional quilting fabrics on the bolt. The fabrics are categorised by the size of the cut, then by colour. I didn’t go in with anything in mind, but I certainly found three pieces to ease my mind! Check out that piece of linen with metallic hexagons printed on it: Divine would be clutching her pearl necklace (then grabbing a tissue! Ow!)
Then this little faux snakeskin number? Slayed and skinned alive! It’s only about the size of a fat quarter, but I’m ready to make a pouch for all things holy. It was literally seven dollars: I’ve paid more for a whole lot less. It could also serve as a loin cloth for a potential Halloween costume; can you even imagine?!
Then finally, I picked up some yardage of this velveteen or velour-esque (Sashsa would know) fabric that is primed for a Big Ass Cushion for the living room. Are you digging this vintage colour way as much as I am? I feel like I need to put on a drapey kimono, and glide through the room with a martini in hand before flouncing onto it exasperated at my day of doing nothing. Yes, let’s do that! Oh, Sunday Stash, it’s good to see you again old friend!
You do not know how good it is to see “Sunday Stash” again from this side of the world. Although you could have left out the “snakeskin” piece UGH !! Snakes along with spiders are not my cup of tea (glass of wine is 1st choice—to h— with the tea) 🙂
Welcome back. I missed you . Xxxxxx
I’m so happy you (and Sunday Stash) are in my life!
-Jean💟
P.S. I love “Mr. Sparkles Says”!
Love the fabric. But love the Mollii Sparkles repartee even more. My vivid imagination is in full tilt.
OMG – that piece with the metallic hexies is so awesome! Love, love love. The snakeskin reminds me of my favorite pair of boots. I love them so much I bought a second pair in a mohair leopard print and hope to be busting them out soon since fall weather might finally be showing up in the SE USA. That retro but modern geometric is perfect for a BAC. Unlike Mr. Sparkles, my peeps are annoyed by any kind of pillow/cushion despite my passionate argument that they accessorize a space. “No pillows would be like the room went out in public without earrings or bangles!” I have an upholstery shop near me that I’ve neglected for far too long; color me inspired to make the trip. Great to see you Sunday Stashing again. Hope this means that you and Mr Sparkles are both recovering well.
I am definitely digging the vintage color theme of the last fabric, but I am absolutely in love with the linen and metallic hexie print!
So nice to have you back, you were missed.
Welcome back…you’ve been missed. Digging that snakeskin as a Halloween costume or on the more practical side, it would be awesome used as the bottom on a back pack! Loving your selections.
