Sunday Stash #251 – Fabric Party
Sunday Stash this week is once again brought to you by A&E Fabrics in Pensacola, Florida. I really can’t say enough good things about this down-home fabric shop. After last week’s hung over post, I want to make sure I give you some good documentation about each and every fabric in this post. There’s a lot of them, so let’s get this fabric party started!
So this first set was just too funky to pass up. I’d never seen this fabric before (shocking, I know!), and with its nod to Mod, how could I say no?! The reds are all part of a collection called Bouffants & Broken Hearts by Kendra Dandy for Robert Kaufman. Have you ever heard of a better name for a collection?! Now that gold I snuck in there in between as a blender is Alice Kennedy for Timeless Treasures. If I carried a handbag, (I generally have other people carrying them for me), I would totally need it to be made out of these fabrics!
Now this hodge podge is an ode to some Pop Art if I ever did see one! From the left is Bubbles by Michael Searle for Timeless Treasures, Amy Adams for Riley Blake Designs, and a digital print from The Estate of Marilyn Monroe on behalf of Robert Kaufman. I don’t think I could use these all together as they are such loud voices on their own, but the fussy cutting potential here is OOC!
Next up are fabrics from one of my favourite designers, Jennifer Sampou, bringing us to life with some Studio Stash and ColorFULL selections. These are both prints that are larger than I would normally go for, but if you don’t stretch your wings, how will you ever fly? I bought half yards of all of these just so I’d have something to experiment with. However, all of these would make exquisite quilt backings–something you should think about!
Here’s a perennial favourite flavour of any month: Alison Glass! When I was at A&E I just picked up any of the fabrics they had that I didn’t think I already had stashed. (There may have been a few duplicates, oh well!) Can you believe I’ve never really made a project from my Alison Glass fabrics? I’ve got dozens of them and they are all still stashed! Holy hallelujahs, I need to get my rainbow tail feathers shaking!
Okay, and finally, for those who want to find the real scoop on my trip to A&E Fabrics, check out my latest column in Aussie magazine, Textile Fibre Forum (available at all fine magazine retailers). It’s a quarterly publication, and I dish all the T on the latest events in the quilting community. This dish was so hot, I had the Sparkles Fans serving it up with a fan club celebration! I can’t wait to get back there and get another fabric party started!

Ooh I love that Jennifer Sampou one on the far right. I have a FQ that I don’t want to cut into. I use that colour palette (hot pink, mustard, dark blue, beige) on everything!!
I’m very partial to the grouping of Alison Glass you show here. And that shiny gold at the top definitely is asking to be made into all kinds of things. I think my favorite is the red print on the right in the first photo, though. Those high boots are something fierce!
I love the bubbles. The reflections are beautiful and they would make a great novelty.
