Sunday Stash #230 – Monochromatic
What a fabulous week! It’s been so great being home without any travel in sight. It’s about bloody time things got back to a normal pace. I have some very exciting non-quilting related news to share in a hot minute, but I’ll save that for when it’s all sewn up. For now, let me show you some amazing fabric I picked up last Monday in Singapore. I met up with my lovely friend Kate (IG: modernbasics) for lunch and a last dip into our favourite shop, Sing Mui Heng. Check the link at the end of the post for your future trip!
Mr. Sparkles has been wanting me to make some new, sophisticated cushions for our couch since like yesterday and forever ago. Like most of you, making for myself is usually put on the back burner. I have also delayed due to waiting for just the right fabric. (Isn’t that always the case!? We can have cupboards full of the stuff, and still not have exactly what we need! That’s why new have to buy it all, right? Obviously.) Well now, by grace of the fabric gods, I think I have found it! I bought a yard of each of these monochromatic pieces, which I think I will use for contrasting front and back panels. I’ve also been wanting to try my hand at invisible zippers, so these cushions are going to be that moment. Eek, wish me luck!
As we were getting ready to leave, I found an F8 sample pack of the other colours in the range for only $5.00. Score! There are several branches of Sing Mui Heng and you can always find surprises at each of them! If you’re planning a trip to Singapore check out this link for some ideas on where you should concentrate your search. Next week I’ve got one last fabric purchase to show you from Singapore, (a few other surprising moments) and then it’s the end of the era! Where am I going to start shopping next?

Ooo, fancy fabrics! Try the Sew Katie Did invisible zip tutorial.
Welcome home!! I bet you can conquer zippers. I am almost ready to give them a try myself (after years of swearing off). We can do it!
I love those fabrics – very classy! Thank you for hosting this wonderful link up!
Oh Molli, thank you for the link to Singapore shops. I have 5 days in September with nothing to do but hang around the swimming pool at a very nice hotel (other half working on the GP) and SHOP, SHOP for fabric. Bliss!!
