Sunday Stash #225 – We Were On a Break!
I’ve got some news to share with you today, my beautiful Glitterati. I’ve been meaning to speak about this for a while, but I’ve been trying to avoid the inevitable. I didn’t want it to come to this, however, I feel the need to be honest with you more than anything.
My life has become a little hectic as of late. Between blowing out my weaves, shaking martinis, making quarter inch hexagons, and trying to find the best friend chicken in the world, the minutes in my day are evaporating faster than a bottle of champagne. I’ve only gout four minutes to save the world, and I am out of time, y’all. Besides all this, I’m currently in the middle of a crazy-long work trip, that won’t see me permanently back at my home base sparkle-pad until the middle of July. I think you know where this is headed.
My blog adventures need to be put on potential hiatus. I say potential because if I can still squeak in a post, I most certainly will. However, I have to release my own expectation on myself to do so, or I will go Banana Boat bonkers. I’m still committing to a couple of things: The Honey Pot Bee posts will still happen at the beginning of the month. (June landed a few days a go). Secondly, Sunday Stash will still make an endeavoured appearance in some form. I may not have a lot to say or fabric to show, but I will do my best. (If anyone is interested in guest-hosting the linkup, drop me a mail!) During my travels I don’t have access to sewing, which has already started the tension headaches. I will still be posting on Instagram (molli_sparkles), and while I have some quilty posts in my back pocket, the content will undoubtedly veer to whatever pretty and interesting things that cross my path.
I have spent some of my airplane transit time cleaning out the 500 emails in my inbox. There are some amazing gems in there that I have missed over the months. Thank you to anyone that has sent me comments over the years! I’ve deleted a lot of them with love just so I can make the anxiety hives go away. But I’ve been replying a to a few of them, which means you could be getting replies to emails from months ago. Some even years ago! Better late than never, right? If there’s a question that I never answered, send it to me again and I won’t let it get away this time.
I miss you already. Don’t consider this a breakup, but more of a “I’ll see you on the flip side.” I want you all available for the Molli Sparkles Welcome Home party that’s sure to happen. Thank you for your love, your patience, and your sparkles.
P.s. Today’s fabrics are brought to you by my most recent trip to Singapore. I was having a mental-health, fabric-shopping day, so these bold, candy-pop colours represent that. Someday I’ll get to sew with them, someday.

No worries! Share what you want when you can – lots of folk I follow take a planned break due to commitments in tHe rest of their world.
I like to plan ahead as best I can to have an easy but engaging handwork project to carry along when I am away from home. I have a large sashiko panel plus thread and needles ready to pack for my summer trip, when I will be away from my studio and in transit a lot of hours.
Love to read your posts and am enjoying the honey pot bee. @susansquiltstudio
xoxo to you, the most outrageous cheerleader of them all! We’ll be here when you drop by for a visit. Bring the good stuff when you come.
Taking care of your health and your loved ones always comes first. Safe travels and if you do decide that you need a sub-in host, I’d be happy to help.
Oh Molli. I‘m sure we’ll all be happy with any little tidbits you have time to drop. 🙂 Sounds like you need to get yourself an itty bitty travel sewing machine. It’s amazing what you can whip up in a hotel room.
Anyway, I’ll be hiatussing (is that a word???) soon too. Surgery on my hand. Grrrrr. Which projects should I finish before the day??? Ahhhhhh! Got to get my Honey Pot blocks caught up before then for sure. Hugs!
Love your fabric. I want, correction need, that vw bug fabric. I have a 1972 super beetle that will be road worthy by the end of summer. Please tell me that that delish fabric is available either online or here in Canada!
Dear Molli – you are so smart to take a break. There is no need to worry about us – we will be waiting (with bated breath) for your return. We know that your stories will be so worth it. Besides who are we to stand between you and the martini shaker. Your minimal free time should have some fun, not be bogged down with post demands. So what you need to do and stop for a fabric shop once in a while. And thank you for calling us your glitterati – no one usually uses that for a bunch of quilters. It makes me quite smug!
Hi Molli! Thank you again for the party and The Honey Pot Bee! Take you time and take care of yourself. We shouldn’t push ourselves to do too much. There just can’t be always time for everything. x Teje
Love that funky print at the top! Have a nice break and enjoy your adventures!
That pink plaid is making me swoon! Fan-tas-tic!!! If you get a moment to share what it is, I’d be ever so grateful, but totally understand if you can’t. See you on the flip side – your faithful glitterati will be here for you.
I hear you! Life goes on. I have trouble even keeping up with IG let alone blogs!. I feel weird these days even posting on IG (littlelollyquilts). I haven’t read Blogs in ages . Times are a changin! I will definitely stalk you on IG. How you going on your longarm? I love my little simply 16 rapidash 🙂 x
Hi Mollie and Mr Sparkle. Happy to give you a break and look forward to any titbits that you can throw out our way, Meanwhile,, can I look after your stash whilst you are busy…..?
I am a new subscriber to your blog. I really looked forward to your brand of craziness to go with my Sunday morning coffee while my husband watched British soccer. I will miss you while you are away.
