Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair 2016 – Day One
Today was the first day of the Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair, and it lived up to all of the amazing expectations of previous years. I should know by now not to have any expectations, as each time I participate I learn new things, meet different people, and see a convention centre full of unexpected (for the most part) quilts. This year is no exception, and it’s only day one! If you’re in the neighbourhood, feel free to drop by and say hello, or grab a #selfiewithsparkle with or without me in it. Trust me, I’ll take no offence if you want to S&M alone. Huh? That’s stand and model, c’mon now, keep up! (Wink!) It won’t be too hard to find me, as I’m right at the entrance in the giant Juki booth, and I’m the only one wearing a silver, sequinned fedora. Which by the way, is making its grand debut at this year’s Fair!
I had several people speak to me today about the seven quilts I have hanging in the Juki booth. They included comments like, “I didn’t know men could quilt,” to “I must have this pattern, where can I buy it?” Then there were those conversations I may have just happened to overhear. “Oh, you make that one like this,” while being entirely incorrect, and “Who’s he?” “Oh, that’s Mr. Sparkles, he’s a bit naughty, but divine.” But seriously, the comment of the day happened before I even had my second coffee, “Molli! I just have to tell you, I love your dick [quilt].” Works for me!
To that end, I thought I would take a moment to re-publish the quilts I have showing, along with their original blog post. Many of these are patterns I have designed, or have borrowed from friends, so I’ve included all tutorial links here as well. I hope you find some inspiration here, as there’s plenty of creative license to make these patterns your own. Good luck, and see you at the show!

Oh, and one more thing! Official press release from the Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair organisers came through while I’ve been writing this blog post. As if you needed nine other reasons, check out #8 below!
Wish I was in Australia to come by and check out your dick (quilt). I have to giggle every time I see it because I want to make one to send to a friend who is a constant drag queen inspiration to me.
the link to the first alphabet tut isn’t working, i would really like to see it, hope you can fix it. your quilts are beautiful, too bad texas is so far away, would love to see them in person.
Sounds like you’re having a blast! I wish you could come to the Adelaide Quilt & Craft fair in November
If I was in Sydney I would visit for #8 alone
Looks like a fun fair and if I was there I’d definitely have you in the phot.
