Sunday Stash #177 – Start Right?
First off, Happy Mother’s Day to all the lovers out there! I hope you’ve received/-ing flowers, breakfast in bed, homemade cards, and/or a big bottle of vodka and a day by yourself! I know which one I’d choose, mmm-kay! Mr. Sparkles and I spent the day prepping for a Mother’s Day afternoon tea for his mum, dad and younger brother. It was a total delight, as Mr. Sparkles made home made chicken and vegetable soup, wasabi devilled eggs, crab cakes with wasabi mayonnaise and ginger, savoury spelt muffins, French gougeres, and a raspberry, coconut and lime loaf for dessert. To say that the Thermomix was getting a workout would be like saying “Oh, yeah, that Molli, he buys a little bit of fabric here and there.” :::sideways glance:: So yeah, I now need to sleep for the next three days. The good news is that there will still be crab cakes when I wake up! Yay!
But Sunday Stash this week, y’all! What about it? Do you have some awesome finds to show? I know Julie at Intrepid Thread is having May Monday Madness sales every week, so I hope you are partaking in that. I’m gearing up for next Monday–the credit card is polished–so you’d best not stand in my way! This week, I received my purchase from Australian quilting notion diva, Punch With Judy. If you’ve not heard of her, you must be living under a very large rock. And if you are, you should invite me over for drinks, because that rock must be super cozy! Anyway, I needed some cloth leaders for my Juki TL-2200QVP long arm, and Punch With Judy was the only place I could find them. (I’m not gonna talk about how they’re not included with the machine or the frame, as I’ll share my full frustration about that with my review.) It was my first purchase with Punch With Judy, and it was flawless. I got these leaders installed last night after a few frustrating hours, and incorrect instructions (again, more to come), and did some long arm stitching today. Look out quilts: I’m coming for ya!
Now we have a few giveaway winners to announce for last week’s Oli Clips offering. I have to tell you, I had no idea there would be so much interest, and that many ideas bantered about their potential usage in the sewing room. Basically, you lot are crazy, and I love you for it! I just asked Mr. Sparkles to write down three numbers on a piece of paper between 1-71 … the winners: 17. Tina Short, 38. Linda, and 59. Jean! (Linda — I can’t find your email address, so please contact me!)

Glad to hear that you are ready to go. I think I’d be pretty frustrated about having to go and buy more supplies before I could start, here’s hoping it’s smooth sailing from here!
Um, if I am the Linda you are looking for (I DO hope so!), my email address is lindaschiffer at me dot com
🙂 Linda
Man, Mr Sparkles’ mom (and any who got to eat with you all) is a lucky woman. That sounds tasty as hell!
I know you’re a Juki ambassador. Is there a post in the past that talks about how you came to that choice for a sewing machine at all?
