Working My Way There
As I was having my annual review with my manager recently, I established some personal goals for 2016. The first involved stocking a better selection of alcoholic beverages in my desk drawer. When you’re in the middle of a crisis you certainly don’t have time to go to the liquor store! My manager chalked that up to a few key competencies like, Thriving Under Pressure, Preparedness, and Good Time Management. I couldn’t agree more! I will definitely try my best not to disappoint. However, we did discuss a few others that were just as important, and one of those was to start selling my own quilt patterns. So I’ve been striving to make some changes to the blog (<– that sequinned elephant in the room is for another post entirely) that will help support this. I’ve been fine tuning some patterns, got a new computer, got some new software, and then went out and asked for some pattern testers to help me out with them. (:::waves at the #GlitteratiArmy:::) I showed you the first foray into this with the #TidalPoolQuilt block pattern released last week. Well, I’ve now taken it a step further and claimed my space with a Craftsy Pattern Store! I’ve been throwing glitter around the room just to make it a bit more comfy. I haven’t exactly figured out how to share it with you–scratching head–but my next step is to get that PayHip thing-a-ma-jig also rocking and rolling. Once they’re all setup and decorated nicely, I’ll make sure there are links aplenty! But what’s in there? Oh, well, not much really, except you can download the PDF version of the #TidalPoolQuilt block tutorial for free. It’s only been there for five days, with zero advertising, and it’s been downloaded fifty times. Who are you crazy people!? Probably the same crazy people as the Glitterati Army who made these amazing test blocks here! Rest assured though, I’ve got a few others drafted and ready for testing and then selling soon. I mean, if I can make a one-handed cocktail at work while my hot-pink, acrylic nail tips clatter away at the keyboard with my other hand, surely I can sell some patterns!
Yes it’s about time you at least did Craftsy lol they make it easy! I look forward to seeing your progress. It’s always fun and baffling to see exactly which patterns sell well! GOOD LUCK
I LOVE the blocks with the stars in the center!! 🙂
please tell me you’re working on the letters you used for the I Sleep On The Bottom Bunk quilt!! I’ll be first in line to buy those! Like on Black Friday at the Wal-mart.. elbowing and shoving other people out of the way! 🙂
Great block pattern. I wanted to pattern test for you. I really did, but my life is too busy right now….maybe next round.
Sweetie! All good, thank you for even thinking about it! If I have my way, there will be plenty of times to pattern test!
That’s a great goal. Good luck.
