Twisted Elegance Pattern
Well, here it is, the release of my very first paper pieced pattern, Twisted Elegance! As I’ve told you before, this pattern is based upon a bit of wallpaper that I saw at a local Sydney cafe. It was feeling all a bit too vintage in that sea foam green for my current mood, but I was able to see past its colour (wrong) ways. I knew despite that, there was a really simple and sophisticated pattern in there I had to explore.
Download Twisted Elegance Here
The downloadable pattern contains five pages, including a cover page, and four pages with a section on each. Those four pages will allow you to create a full unit that will have a finished size of 10″ x 15″ (10 ½” x 15 ½” unfinished). Make sure you remember to print with scaling set at 100% as most of the time the default will be like 91% and that will give you all sorts of grief! I’ve mocked up a sample below in purple and pink on grey (#nohate), but I’m still keen to dive into some other colour ways and small tone-on-tone patterns.
Oh, and I also wanted to share with you the way I pre-cut my pieces to minimise my wastage. You don’t have to do it this way, but it definitely helped with my chain piecing. You might be able to make these pre-cuts smaller if you’re a pro, however, I certainly am not!
Piece 1: 1 ¾” x 10 ½”
Pieces 2, 3, 5, 6: 1½” x 10″
Pieces 4, 7: 5″ x 10″ cut diagonally in half
If you end up making a Twisted Elegance block please share and tag me on Instagram with #mollisparkles so I can find your fabulous self! Designing this was so much fun, I can’t wait to do it again! For all those that have already sent kisses my way, a thousand air kisses right back atcha!

I like it, a lot. Although God knows I have enough projects on the go, I simply can’t start another one!! I like the quotes in the seam allowances – very Molli!
