Sunday Stash #152 – Three Wise Men
Ouch. Let it be known that I’m a bit hungover today, and it’s not from all this fabric that is causing my cup to runneth over. It’s more than likely from the three bottles of Bollinger champagne I helped demolish over dinner last night. Aye, and that was even after the pre-dinner martinis (shaken, not stirred!) When you’re feeling a bit dusty, nothing helps shake it off like some fabric fondling. So this morning, I started ironing and then photographing the latest incoming bits of Liberty fat eighths, and I tell you what, I immediately felt better!
Most of these fall into the cutesy floral category, but I’m learning to make some exceptions. I actually think it’s that the Liberty is beating down my defences slowly over time. Eventually I’ll be wrapping myself in pastel pink daisies; seriously, if that happens someone please pull out some of my chest hair to remind me who I am! All that being said, this goldenrod, adult-colouring-book-esque, vintage piece is striking my fancy. I like its illustrative qualities, and it makes me want to get my doodle pad out and go to scribble-town. That one is definitely getting the Liberty Lantern treatment!
I leave tomorrow night for Japan, and trust me when I said to Mr. Sparkles, “This time I’m taking the big suitcase!” I think his eyes went a bit wide, but a gal’s got to do what a gal’s got to do! Even Liberty is cheaper in Japan than it is here in Australia, so I’ll probably succumb to some of that luxury as well. Plus, there was one piece I didn’t get to scoop up when I was there last time, so you can bet your last Yen that it’ll be in my shopping cart this time. Liberty, Moda, Echino … it’s like the Three Wisemen: Johnnie, Jack and Jim (<– All sexy men alone, but together, watch out!) Which ironically, brings us full circle to that hangover I mentioned earlier. Sigh, maybe fabric really is the culprit!

Safe travels to Japan. Your Liberty is lovely. Must tell you – my littlest was on my lap and saw your IG photos and was sure you had stolen her sister’s Twilight Sparkle.
Hi Molli,
I hope this qualifies as Sunday Stash. If not, I apologize and will take it down. Since it is quilting related, I thought it would be ok. I linked up with Tula Pink’s link and Cotton+Steel who have quilting related coloring books.
Best,
Anne
Mmm still not convinced by Liberty but I think that’s because I know I would stash and never use! You make something splendid with them and I’ll live vicariously through you. I can’t wait to see what you buy this trip!
