Catching Up
Okay, okay, okay. So I’ve been kind of chillaxing over here, I know. But let me make it perfectly clear, Molli B. Sparkles ain’t dead. The rumours of my demise are completely false, and I am still sewing my way to heaven. Sometimes you just gotta close your eyes and pretend the rest of the world doesn’t exist, ya know? Well, let’s just say my sparkling eyes are now wide open.
Oh but hey, I haven’t even spoken to you since my design workshop, T-Shirt Quilts: Off the Grid at Intrepid Thread. What a fun day! I really think I need to take that workshop global (and make another t-shirt quilt) because I was getting all inspired talking to those that attended. (:::waves:::) Modern Quilt Guild people, can you just pencil me in for Quilt Con 2017, please? Yes? Oh, good, thanks! It was my first time giving that workshop, and after two hours of running through design concepts, choices, and how-to’s, I would gladly do it again!
Also, Passing Notes In Class finally made it to my brother in Oklahoma this week. As I held my breath, this is what he had to say about it via a Facebook message, “Hey got the quilt in today and it is AMAZING. You did a perfect job on it. Thank you so much.” He’s a man of few words, but I think that really translates to, “Oooh-emmm-geee, my hair is on fire, and I couldn’t think of anything else I would want in my world right now more than this quilt. It is every shade of perfect, and you are the best brother in the history of the world. Amen.” Yeah, I’m going with that.
So time to get my sewing bandwagon up and running again. The weather here in Sydney is starting to pretend like spring could be around the corner. That means more daylight, and more time for proper quilt photos. I hope you don’t mind a little Joshua Helms Photography guest appearance today! Oh, and I of course will be back tomorrow for a pretty fabulous Sunday Stash!
Oh yes, of course that's what your brother meant to write! You should write a post – 'how to say thank you properly when someone has slaved over a unique creation for you, spent days (nay, weeks!) hunched over a machine, agonised over their fabric choices, unpicked and cursed, been driven to drinking bubbles in the afternoon – all to make you a perfect gift and you say, 'oh, that's nice!'
And breathe …
Pesky jet-lag! I love that shot of the polar bear … he's smiling!
So glad your brother loved the quilt. If not, I would fear for his safety and that of the quilt. 🙂
Hopefully he will call you so you can actually hear the appreciation in his voice. That quilt is worth much more than a passing comment on facebook!! Just sayin.
Glad to hear your brother was pleased. I'm hoping to get to QuiltCon 2017 as it's on the east coast — a little easier to get to from the east coast of Canada. Would love to take a workshop hosted by you.
Of course that is what he was saying!!!!
