Sunday Stash #134 – Liberty Fondu + Fabric Floozy Giveaway
I’ve been holding onto these for a while. I’m telling you, there is a serious backlog of fabrics waiting to hit the Sunday Stash parade. These are the June instalment of my pseudo-subscription to a Liberty fabric club, via Danielle (IG: collectstitchloveliberty). If you would have told me at the beginning of the year that I would be using Liberty fabrics, or that I would even be collecting them, I would have told you to put your crazy suit back on. Oh but Lord of the Flies, here I am.
Florals. I know. I know. Trust me, I know. How did this happen? What have I become? It’s a slippery slope, y’all, so you’d best be careful. While I don’t need yardage from a lot of these, the little snippets of colour feel really fresh. They all have a painterly quality to them and it is appealing to my art history geek-brain.
All of them except this brown floral. Yes, some children are harder to love than others. Wouldn’t you agree?
BUT. I have a plan. These F16s are actually great for my plan, and I’m hoping to unveil the beginnings of it to you this week. It involves small bits of Liberty and paper piecing. Are you scared? Waste not, want more, as I always say!
These three are giving me all shades of seventies chic. Pass the formica and fondu and it could be a par-tay! These are slightly smaller cuts, but as with any fondu, a little goes a long way!
But now it is time for a Fabric Floozy giveaway! Boo-ya! This is another one for my Aussie / Kiwi brethren — so make sure you spread the word. It’s not often you find local giveaways, so a big, giant thank you to all of the participating sponsors. This week’s Fabric Floozy prize is brought to us by Robyn from Patchwork on Pittwater which is a fantabulous little shop over on Sydney’s northern beaches. To enter, head on over to Instagram where I’ll post a picture of the prize, and follow me (molli_sparkles) and Robyn (robyn_evans47). You can even tag a friend for an extra chance! Okay, okay, since you asked nicely, I’ll leave you with a little sneak peek as I’m sure you’ll be drooling over this very famous designer’s latest collection!
Brown fabrics are a funny lot for me. I either *love* love them or am very blah about them. The brown floral here is a bit too 70s gold, brown, and cream sofa for me (I can totally send a photo of me at 6 months on that sofa), but spiced up / sliced up I am guessing you can figure out a way to work it. 🙂
This brown floral fabric is beautiful! I love it !
It's hard to get over the beauty of the Liberty prints, I expect you have already seen the ones designed by William Morris in person but if not they are fantastic. I am sure you will enjoy using them in some modern and creative way.
Ack… the Instagram temptation continues. Thank goodness this one isn't open to us North Americans. Wow. I never really thought I would say that about a fabric giveaway. As for the Liberty…. I want to like it. It has the loveliest feel and drape, but I just can't. I suspect that whatever you're cooking up might change my mind (or at least blow it).
Paper piecing? Can't wait.
Molli….I wanted to personally invite you and your followers to join us in my Third Annual Piggy Bank Savings for Quilty Treats Challenge. (I bought FABRIC with my savings this year and hope it all arrives for me to post and share here next week!) ANyhoo….feel welcome to stop by and check things out! val from myplvl.blogspot.com
I haven't hopped aboard the Liberty train, but I actually *love* that brown floral. 😉
I actually like the Brown one! It goes with lots of my colors.
I am officially turning into my Sportscraft Liberty shirt wearing mother, Gawd help me!… I have been lusting over Robyn's (PoP) Liberty bolts for years… One day I will officially cut over to the other side and purchase some lengths or a precut fat 16/8/4 bundle, if to do nothing else than make an infinity scarf…
I love that brown! I think I'm one of the few people who like brown fabrics 🙂
seriously, you are hilarious – that child you're not all that keen on is called D'Anjo ! and he knows his more colourful siblings are better looking than he – Danielle x
