Sunday Stash #85 – The Intrepid Thread Empire
It’s no secret that I love crack fabric dealer, Intrepid Thread. Julie’s shop always has all the best pieces that meet my diverse, aesthetic sensibilities. Y’all know I adore colour, but I love sophisticated neutrals just as much.
Well, a few weeks ago, I did some pro bono graphic design work for Intrepid Thread because it is something I like to do in that little bit of spare time I have. So colour me happy, when this fat quarter bundle of Parson Gray’s new line, Empire, showed up on my doorstep. It was Julie’s way of saying thank you, and it was totally uncalled for, but very much appreciated!
Coming very soon on my quilt to do list is a quilt for Mr. Sparkles, using the wide array of Parson Gray pieces I have collected. It’s going to be a winter quilt, so fortunately, I have until next year to get this sucker finished. If anyone in the world deserves a quilt, it’s him, so I need this one to be epic.
I would love to watch you show these to David and ask him to sign them…..blush much? LOL
I'm sorry, the only (terrible) jokes springing to my mind at the moment are empire lines, which is a dress style. Of course maybe Mr Sparkles would like to show off his empire lines…
Molli, anything you do will be epic, I am sure. You do epic better than anyone I know. I know you will think of the perfect quilt pattern.
Oh my! A new line from Parson Gray! I have been hoarding the other lines like a squirrel with nuts! I'm planning a quilt with a huge circular pattern in the centre. I have several patterns but I think I'm gonna tweak them and maybe overlap a couple of circles. The pieces will be on the larger side to show off this amazing fabric! Of course it's going to be king sized to fit our bed. I've gotta get me some Empire! I'll be watching for your epic masterpiece to take shape!
Just got my shipment of Cotton & Steel from Julie on Friday. She is great to work with, prices are great and shipping is supper fast! Love that new Empire line…that might have to be my next purchase.
Have you seen the Lucy Boston blocks? Parson Gray fabrics scream fussy cut. You could do it on a grand scale.
It was just a gift… you are worth way more than that as my personal art director **wink
