Sunday Stash #43 – Magic Suitcase V2.0 Part 02 – Kitchenette
First, before I even begin talking about fabrics, I finally discovered why Google was making my photos look like crap when I uploaded them. Ms. Peek & Ponder found the solution and shared how to fix it here. If you’ve had a similar problem, it’s as easy as unchecking a check box, but once again, Google+ is to blame. Grrr.
The good news is that I have plenty of fabrics to fondle to distract me from the failures of Google+. These all hitched a ride in the Magic Suitcase V2.0, and are now ready to jump into my fabric stash for immediate use. Some Angela Waters Textures, and some Floressence make great blenders…
… but the Michael Miller Mirror Ball Dots really get me spinning around! (LR) I was totally averse to them when they were first released, and now for the life of me I can’t figure out why I didn’t snatch them up immediately. I think we need a full reprinting and re-release in new colour ways. Bronze, golds, platinums, luxe luxe luxe, do you feel me?
Art Gallery’s Living Elements blenders get me every time! Don’t get me wrong, the Oval Elements are totally on my “love you forever” list. But everytime I see the Living Elements I feel like I’m going to walk through a glittery, crystalline, beaded curtain, and I wonder how I live without one in my house. I guess I’ll have to start that Christmas list now!
My major excitement from Part 02 of the Magic Suitcase V2.0 reveal are these goodies from Jeni Baker’s Color Me Retro line. I already have the full collection, but I grabbed half yards of the three Dulcettes, and four yards of Kitchenette in Honeydew from an Art Gallery sale at Intrepid Thread. That Kitchenette print is going to make a kick-ass backing for my MSBHQAL quilt. I had it pegged to be the backing for my Color Me Retro quilt (design still TBD), and when I mentioned this to Mr. Sparkles he said, “You’d better buy some more then!” Well, if you say so!
Beautiful additions! I just used some of the blue Florressence in a bee block…..That Queen bee best know how freakin lucky she is!
I have never before heard of any partner, any where, saying go get some more fabric. This should go into the Guinness Book of Records! We need proof, to show our own partners. 🙂 Love the fabrics too. xxx
Please wipe the drool off my knees..Art Gallerrrrrrryyy…
I feel the exact same way about the mirror balls. When they came out, what was all the commotion about? But now, after seeing them in person, I'm wondering if I need more…. Yay for Magic Suitcase!
I have a few FQs of those mirror balls from long ago! You have some beautiful fabrics today! Always love your stash! My DH is a fabric enabler. We route our travels via quilt shop stops,
I looked at my Google + , and saw that the Auto Enhance was checked off, too. (They must've defaulted that to get checked off.) Thanks for the info about that!
I love seeing the treasures in your Magic Suitcase! Did your Grandma Sparkles give you everything inside the suitcase?
Susie
"When your partner says, "buy more fabric," you buy more fabric. Truth."
Haha… I don't have a partner, so for me it's all "When your brain says…" and that works pretty well too 😀 (Doesn't work so well for my bank account, but what business is it of his anyway?)
I am getting the distinct impression that you, my dear, are a fabric whore…
Love that Kitchenette. Can't wait to see it on your MSBHQAL quilt!
I don't think my bf will ever tell me I'd better buy more fabric (and be serious), but he doesn't tell me I can't so he's still a keeper! Great haul this week. Thanks for linking up!
I didn't realize the living elements were so pretty, I'm glad I've seen your picture now. My friend is my go ahead and get it partner and for him I go to the open air market and encouraging his love of African carvings and trade beads 🙂
Thank you, thank you, a thousand times thank you (and Ms Peek & Ponder). I thought I was going mad when photos kept looking different!
