Sew Relieved!
Hey y’all! Yes, I’m totally waving at you! I just wanted to quickly update on some extremely important news. I delivered Bartering for Flowers today, and it was considerably well-received. My mother-in-law was genuinely surprised at the backing material and design, as well as the professional quilting that finished it off. She was expecting neither, as I had kept those gemstones to myself. She was also chuffed at how our coordinated selection of fabrics turned out to work so well together and achieve the delicate (yet, sophisticated) design she had desired. So, a major sparkle win!
But, the really good news … I get to keep the sewing machine a little bit longer! We’re talking until the end of September, which is perfect timing because that is when Grandma Sparkles is coming to visit. Oh, and don’t forget Grandma Sparkles will have the Magic Suitcase V2.0 in tow. I know y’all want to see me diving into that madness!
Now! Whew, sigh of relief. Bartering for Flowers was a hit, and I have a reprieve on the sewing machine removal. That means we can get on with other fun to do things, like broken herringbones! I’m creating a digital version mock up to assist everyone participating in the QAL (preview below) and the Flickr group is heating up, so be sure to share any fabric ideas there!
Okay, such a good day, I have to go sew.
P.s. Mr. Sparkles Says has received a few updates recently.
Your quilt was lovely – am so glad that your MIL loved it too!
Great job and win!!
So glad Bartering for Flowers was a big hit. And lucky you getting to keep that machine for awhile!
Knew she'd love it! Happy MIL means happy quilter, besides that sewing machine is so comfortable at your place I bet it doesn't want to go home yet either!
Happy days. Great to hear your MIL was delighted with the quilt, but in fairness she couldn't have been anything else. I'm sure the sewing maching will get plenty more use in the weeks ahead – enjoy!
Yay for the win! And the win of longer machine-sitting too :oD
Yay!!! It's always good when the MIL is happy. I love the way the back turned out. How could she NOT love it. It's absolutely beautiful. I love my Pfaff and ironically it was a Christmas gift from my MIL.
Thanks for sharing your work.
The quilt is fabulous, and I'm so pleased your MIL was happy with it!! Who wouldn't be. 😀 And yay for getting to keep the sewing machine for longer! I love my pfaff. 😀
Cool. Congrats on lovely finish. It's always such a relief when our creations are well received, lol.
