WiP Wednesday #12 – Black Is the New White
So when Lee says, “cut,” you best get to cuttin’! I had the audacity to question Ms. Freshly Pieced’s methods, and cutting instructions for the Bloom Bloom Pow QAL. She quite pointedly told me to STFU, go to the back of the line, and only return when I was worthy enough to speak to someone of her calibre–which in her words, not mine, were, “quite simply, never.” Then she gave me that arched eyebrow look, you know, as if to say “less is definitely, definitely, not more, it’s just, less.” I had officially been told.
Okay, so none of that happened. But how fabulous would it have been if it had!? I’d be totally thrown, but in complete awe. You know I’d be listen’ and the first cut would be the deepest. Mmm hmmm.
Instead, I asked Lee if she was sure we needed to cut different sized blocks for the white portions, as they all appeared to be the same size in the final quilt illustration. She was totally nice, lovely, and told me to just trust her and it would all become clear soon enough. So girl, here, in all their glory are my white blocks.
If I told you that I’m linking up with Freshly Pieced, you’d do it too, right?
What are you working on this week?
Good. I'm planning to divert from the white background myself. Not so decided on what I'll be doing yet but I better get that ironed out soon.
Oh my goodness you are so funny! I'm looking forward your version, not really but I know it'll be fun to read about it, lol.
Looks like it will be really fun!
Oh yeah, totally scary biscuits that Lee… ;o)
hahaha, your imaginary conversations are funny. I think the black batiks are going to be stunning!
STFU – you know when I saw that in the group I thought it meant "stuff you"……..hahahhahah
You rebel, you! You can join me at the back of the class. lol
What a great ideal now I want to copy but stay with the white but with subtle prints. Oh well maybe next time, can't wait too see more of your blocks together.
Haha too funny! I can't wait to see how your BBP comes together with the black background! Think it might be a rather inspired choice!
