Sunday Stash #11 – Kidding, right?
So I bet you’d never expect to see the below image featured on this blog. And this ain’t no psych out either. I am actually making a quilt with these pink, mint, and off-white florally fabrics. People, it hurts me to even talk about it.
Sometimes, though, you have to take one for the team, and if that team features your mother-in-law, it’s a fight worth surrendering. She knows what she likes, and who am I to argue with that? So here we go, a disappearing (not soon enough) nine-patch. Should be relatively painless, right?
P.s. I’m so blinded by these fabrics, I can’t bring myself to share with you details of the aqua fabrics I mentioned last week. I don’t want to muddy their beautiful teal waters. They’ll have to wait.
Linking up with Fiona at Finding Fifth for this week’s Sunday Stash-a-thon! You should do the same.
Even bad fabric is worth sharing.
It's very pretty and the fabrics go well together. And if your MIL is anything like my mother she knows EXACTLY what she wants, so best to just go along with that :).
Once those little beautiesa re sliced up dear Molli those flower gardens will be mere flower beds and be insignificant means to bind the stripes, plain and gingham together. Looking forward to seeing the end result.
Oh dear Josh…will you still respect me if I say that I quite like these fabrics together? I have a thang for gingham. Thanks for making me laugh with this post though.
That is GOLD. I too am working with pastels at the moment and feel like I'm cross-eyed.
All I can do is LOL. However, sometimes it's nice to step out of your fabric comfort zone. You can surprise yourself.
I'm not really a floral lover but these are quite pretty 🙂
Back in the day I might have picked these fabrics for myself. True. So this quilt your are making will be like a "vintage" adventure. Take lots of photos so that you can always remind yourself you've been there and done that! 🙂
I think if I had to work with baby pastels, I might just have a similar response!! Always good to endear yourself to the MIL 😉
Yes, there are some prints that literally make me feel nauseous 🙁 But good on you for being a great person and sewing for your MIL 🙂
