My Second Quilt Finish – Fit for a Queen
Hello, my dahlings! Don’t you just love that feeling of completion? You finish that last hand stitch on the binding (machine binding? oh, no, no, no) and think to yourself, “Whew, I can’t believe I did that!” Oh, believe, this one! For some reason, I decided that the second quilt I would make–eva, eva–would be queen size. Mmm hmm. No, she didn’t. Oh, yes, she did. It took me long enough, and I consider my training wheels to still be on for this one, but, whew, it is done.
I want to hang it high and let it fly, but it is destined to be a gift at the end of February, so I can’t quite show you the full thing yet. Trust, you’ll be seeing this beauty again though, in all its glory. So until then, here are a few close ups so you can at least see the colour palette and some of the fabric choices.
It's looking fabulous. Well done you! x
Mmmm, mm! You know I love me some Madrona Road!
Looks great! Can't wait for the full reveal 🙂
Love that binding! Madrona Road is such a good collection. Gotta agree on hand stitching the binding – strangely satisfying.
Wow – such a tease! Oh, I love that binding fabric so much. I have some in my stash just waiting for the perfect project… Hmmm, better subscribe to your blog now so I get to see the full reveal:)
Can't wait to see the entire quilt! I love spiral bindingsS!
that crumpled up quilt is so cozy looking, I can hardly stand it! that quilt is just begging someone to wrap up in it! 🙂 I've been considering using the blue colorway of your binding print to bind my Madrona Road quilt, but I wasn't completely sold until I saw how fabulous yours looks. I think there needs to be some fabric shopping in my near future…
Oooh, I'm intrigued. Very cool palette! Can't wait to see the unveiling!
Looking great. Your second quilt a queen size! Well done! That is impressive.
