I really don’t want these cushions, but I do want to give you both a high-five for awesomeness. Sounds like you have a wonderful, open and honest relationship.

  2. Beverley says:

Thank you Molli for clearing my name as the MIL from hell.
You know I love you and that’s all that is important
I know there is someone out there who will give the cushions a good home and love them for the beautiful creation they are

    • Brenda says:

I don’t think you ever sounded like the mother-in=law from hell. You sounded like the kind of MIL I’d like — honest and appreciative. And . . . tastes change, we all shuffle things around now and again. And again. But you did keep the quilt, didn’t you? Smiles and a hug to you from Nebraska.

    • Marta S. says:

I agree with Brenda, Beverley. You were right to return the pillows and your sincerity is refreshing! Plus the quilt you got is so feminine and truly lovely–best not to let pillows create an unnecessary distraction from it. 🙂

  3. Beverley says:

I certainly did keep the quilt Brenda
I still think it is the Most beautiful quilt Molli has ever made. He however would not agree with that statement

  4. Maria Porter says:

I liked them the first time round and did not consider them fugly at all. Thumbs up to Beverley for saying how she feels about them. Much better than putting them in a cupboard so that they never brighten a bed or lounge.

  5. Nurdan says:

I really appreciated your MIL’s honesty. Also, want to thank her; I would happily give them a loving home because I think they are beautiful. Thanks! 🙂

  6. Beth Strand says:

Thanks, Bev, you sound like a terrific mom in law! I’d love to give your cushions a new home! Beth @ Words & Stitches

  7. Aileen says:

Hahahaha Molli you always brighten my feed and my day. Not putting up my hand for the cushions, but just to,say I love the word fugly and always enjoy your spicy writing. Like your quilting, it sizzles and stands out xxxxx

  8. Lisa says:

Love yours and Bev’s honesty. Molli you do make me giggle! I think you explained fugly perfectly!

  9. Sam Morris says:

Bev, I commend your honesty. Molli, your MIL didn’t take the cushions, but I will. They will be perfect in my bedroom. Is that a bad thing?

  10. Jason says:

Thanks, Bev, for your honesty. But I hope my mother-in-law never returns a gift. 🙂

Actually, my mother-in-law would LOVE these (she’s a quilter, too); so I’d love to win them for her!

  11. cynthia says:

I think they’re adorable, but maybe my taste level just isn’t there as Nina Garcia would say!

  12. Lesley Gilbert says:

Thanks for the chance to win your fugly cushion covers – I have just the right chair to put them on and rest my weary back. Tastes change for everybody and when I think what I have made over the years, well, these are back in fashion once again :p

  13. barbara says:

    I think they are cute

  14. Katie says:

I’ve made my share of “fugly” things too, but I really like these cushions. Hubby likes pink and I like floral. They would look perfect on my new denim couch. Thank you Bev, for sharing with the rest of us! I’m volunteering Molli to make you something more to your taste. 😉

  15. Norma says:

Beautiful or fugly? It’s all in the eye of the beholder. I really like these cushions and they’d look great on my bedroom chair. Bev, I appreciate your honesty and thanks for giving someone else a chance to enjoy them.

  16. Cleta says:

Bev Thanks for a chance to win the pillows. I love everything colorful. Blessings to you Molli

  17. Michele T says:

I love your honesty Bev and I could see how the cushions would be just a tad bit too much with the quilt. Fortunately they would fit perfectly in our family room, so I hope I am the lucky winner in this draw!!

  18. Christine says:

Dear Bev and Molly, Would love to win these cushion covers. My (extremely) pink/pastel/floral loving 9 and 11 year olds would be delighted to add them to the bunk beds. I would be more delighted to not be nagged to make more “decor” for their room!!

  19. helen says:

i would be happy to win your quilts. Until I read your post I thought fugly meant fabric ugly. My daughter can’t believe I didn’t know the true meaning! I must have slept through that bit of Mean Girls.

  20. Irene Grimes says:

I like the cushions, but even if I didn’t, there is A LOT I would do to own a Molli Sparkles original!!!!

  21. Rachal says:

Oh Beverly, could you be my MIL? I think the pillows are great and would love to have them. How refreshing that you guys have such honest communication and nobody gets stabby.

Well I like them so thanks Bev!!!

  23. Brenda says:

You know, I just realized I only commented to Bev and don’t know if it puts me in the running. I so enjoy your commentary that I would love to have even the scraps from your quilts.

  24. Marilyn says:

That Bev felt comfortable returning the pillows demonstrates the loving, respectful relationship you share. It would be great to win these pillows because I would have something made by YOU!

Ohio Hugs to you both too!

  26. Kathleen says:

Thank you for your honesty Bev! If I win them I’m giving them to my sweet grandbaby who will be turning one tomorrow (the 23rd)! I know she will love them. She already loves it when I put pillows on the floor for her to cuddle and play with and crash land on while she learns to walk 🙂

  27. Paula says:

I love your honesty Bev, I only wish more people could be like you. The pillows are wonderful but they definitely won’t work with everything. I do however have a lovely plain coloured couch (sofa) that I think they’d look fab on! Molli, I do hope you are going to treat Bev to a set of new pillows that better match her quilt.

  28. Linda Pawlak says:

    Bev,
Thank you for being honest and allowing them to be gifted to one of us! I love them! Thanks for the chance to win!

LOL, I love your honesty and your MIL’s, Bev these would look very nice on my bed, I just happen to have a light green bedspread, it is all one color and these would add a touch of feminine to a very boring room, Thank you.

  36. Oh wow, thanks to you and your Mother-In-Law, now I have a chance to win these really lovely pillows! And we need some new ones. I think they’d actually go with our floral couch and chair.
