Oh, you poor thing! Do take as long as you need to completely recover. You will, however, be sorely missed in the interim! I, for one, always look forward to your posts, which are without fail good for several smiles and chuckles! Wishing you a speedy recovery!!!

Take care of you and get plenty of rest. We will miss you, but we know you will be dreaming of things to do on your blog while you are recovering. My husband had mono last year. He is 47. He got sick a year ago today (November 1st.) He didn't feel better until min January. He was off work all that time. I was so thankful that it was just mono. In the hospital his first blood work pointed to a blood clot on the lung. There was no magic pill he could take to get better. Like I said, I was just so thankful that it was mono. He had a little relapse in May. Rest up. You will be sparkling in no time.

  8. Amy says:

Blowing kisses your way for a speedy and thorough recovery!

  9. memmens says:

Yikes! Rest well and spend the time plotting, hoping you'll be back to full strength quickly.

  10. Auntie Pami says:

Do you need some get well soon care packages? Chicken soup?

  11. Kacey says:

Had it in college – definitely no fun! I remember being so tired that after I dragged myself into the shower, I just had to wrap in my towel and sit on the (closed) toilet until I could summon enough energy to dry off. Hopefully you'll be on the "weeks" side of recovery and not the "months" side and your liver gets it's act together quickly!

  12. Heather J says:

I remember when my brother had it. The tv never saw so much use! Get well soon and wishing you a speedy recovery.

  13. Renee says:

Our bodies do have a way with going all wackadoodle when under a lot of stress and in need of a good break, don't they? Hope your recovery is short and swift.

  14. Oh no! Sending healing thoughts. Get an Audible account, then you have a voice to tell you stories and keep you company all day! When I was on bed rest, my DH brought me lunch and a new book to read each afternoon. I hope Mr. sparkles will take good care of you. Stay positive and get a new sketchbook for the occasion….Amazon delivers!

  15. Leanne says:

Yikes! I hope you are better soon. Keep an eye out for depression too, it happens with grown up sufferers too. I'll send healing thoughts your way.

  22. Anne says:

Oh gosh! I hope you feel better soon. It sounds like you could really use the rest, although it's a lot more fun when you take a vacation. Maybe you should opt for that next time. 🙂 <3

  23. You poor baby, no wonder my screen hasn't been glowing and glittery lately. What you need is a huge bowl of the homemade chicken soup with curly noodles and dumplings I just made. I've been down with a sinus infection that traveled down into the chest and I honestly felt better after eating the soup for a couple of days. If I was your neighbor, I'd be over in a flash with a gallon of the stuff for you. Take good care of yourself and come back to us soon.. Lots of hugs, and no kisses.

  30. Kim B. says:

Oh Molli!! I'm terribly sorry to hear you've got mono, especially with these nasty complications. I'm glad you're following (cute) doctor's orders to rest and recover. I imagine Mr. Sparkles is taking good care of you, and we're all sending our well wishes from the Glitterati!!!

  31. Feel better soon! Mono is no joke. Rest up and we will all be waiting for your sparkling appearance back here on the inter-web 🙂

  32. You have my total empathy! I came down with mono for the first time at age 40 … I'm sorry to say that it lasted for months (I was pretty exhausted already) and turned into Chronic Fatigue which I fought with for years. 😛

I sure hope you get better a LOT faster – you are doing the right thing. You have to take care of yourself.

    🙂 Linda

  33. The O's says:

Well that would certainly dull your sparkle! Rest up, take it easy and research things to do in Tassie, I am sure we could help your recovery with a wee break down there 😉 xxx

  34. I will miss your glitter in my in-box – wishing you a speedy recovery 🙂

  35. Hope you are feeling better soon!

  36. Sarah_L_N says:

Oh no, I've had that and it sucks 🙁 Rest loads. It took ages for me to be taken seriously and diagnosed, so I pushed myself way too hard until then and it took me forever to recover because of it. Hope your sparkle is back soon 🙂

  37. Patti K says:

Dear Molli, So sorry to hear your news. Please rest and take care of yourself. We all love you! XOXO

Sick sucks! Take care and be back soon.

  41. Louise B says:

Hope you are one of the ones that get better in a couple of weeks rather than months. And the silver lining – all the money you save on alcohol can be spent on fabric bought on line from the comfort of the couch! xx

  42. Heather says:

Eek! Get some r&r and feel better soon! Good luck and we are all rooting for your recovery

  43. Kathy says:

Yup, had that as a teenager. I was lucky my mom took very good care of me. I remember all the meals she brought to me. I didn't even have to get up. I don't remember how long it lasted though. Hopefully you have someone to take good care of you as well. Looking forward to your next post saying all is well!

  44. Dawn says:

So sorry to hear you have Mono. I know it is no fun. 🙁 I had it when I was 54 and thoght for sure I was dying and if I wasn't I wished I would. It took me 14 weeks to finally feel like normal again. I sure hope you recoup sooner than I did. You are much younger though so hopefully that will help. Best wishes.

  45. Sew Jacky O says:

Well you're no fun are you, what am I going to do now. Oh sorry that's ME Me me!!!! Seriously so sorry to hear this, do take care, and Don't try to rush it you'll only end up taking longer to fully recover. We'll all still be here when you get back.

  48. MsMidge says:

No good my friend! Take it easy xx

  49. salamanda says:

Please rest as much as possible. I had Glandualr Fever as a teen and ended up in a hideous isolation ward. Went back to school to soon and suffered years of post viral fatigue (M.E.) Y ou strike me as the high achieving perfectionist type (it takes one to know one) and we seem to make ourselves the most I'll as we refuse to give in. We won't forget your Sparkle. Take care

  50. quiltyVal says:

Sparkly kisses and hugs for a speedy recovery!

  51. Laurelle says:

Oh no! I come back from hols to hear this ! Rest rest. Been there in year 12 needles to say never got my HSC. You have to rest until you are well or will be right back at the start. Cannot imagine going through this over 30. Best wishes and speedy recovery xxx

  52. Julie says:

    Hey Darling,

Feel better soon. It sucks to get sick. Maybe it is time to take up a little hand work… I have some cute ALison Glass embroidery patterns… let me know 🙂

    Hugs,
    Julie

  53. Jusmom1 says:

Give your body the time it needs to recover. Seriously. A recurrence of mono is no fun at all and will only drag out your time away from "life" as you love it!

  54. Sue says:

I'll miss your blogging. Get better soon. Take care.

  55. ~Diana says:

We will all drink EXTRA for you! Rest well…sending the SPARKLE FAIRY your way for a speedy recovery~or at least to refill your glitter supply!

  56. Oh, Molli! Having suffered through the same illness many years ago, I know just how crappy you likely feel. I hope you're able to get lots of rest and can rebound quickly. I'll be looking forward to your resurrection blog post when you're back on your feet. Good thing you have lots of quilts to cuddle up under… and that ordering fabric on-line doesn't take much energy! 🙂

  57. Jane S. says:

Awww, Molli! That's dreadful! Get lots of rest and know that we're all sending good thoughts your way. Take care now. I mean it. I don't want to have to come down there and slap you around when you're in a weakened condition! XOXO

  58. Get well soon Molli, we miss your sparkle!

  59. pennydog says:

Well that's pretty crappy, positives though…. time to read, time off work, a spot of hand sewing, Mr Sparkles waiting on you hand and foot? Get well soon!

  60. Sooli says:

That's not good news, I had only a small dose of glandular fever when I was 18 and rest is definitely the key. Look after yourself and take the time to get well. Get some minions doing all the dirty work for you!

  61. SewPsyched! says:

I am so very sorry to hear that you are also having the liver side effects. That really stinks!! I hope I can brighten your day by asking you to be an honorary member of the #bitchesgetstitchesswap over on instagram. I hope a little bawdy humor and comradeship will shorten your convalescence and brighten your days! XX! And hey, it's better than taking up knitting.

  62. Snow says:

Speaking from (way too much) experience, a few things you should know about mono. Most importantly, you CAN get it again. I've had it four times now, the most recent being just last month. The later times were not as bad as when I was younger, but you'll want to keep an eye out for when you get tired and run down. That's when you should rest. Also, don't feel bad if you have to take naps or say no to doing things. That's what you need to do in order to get better. There is no treatment for mono, as you now know, so the best thing you can do is rest as much as possible. Drink lots of water and eat as healthy as you can. Hang in there and I hope you feel better soon!!

  63. Sending lots of well wishes and I hope you can get plenty of rest!! xxx

  64. Hi Molli! I hope you are feeling better! Very important to be a good patient…even with all the restrictions! Looking forward to you sparkling again!

  65. Kim B. says:

checking back in to say I hope that you've been properly resting and getting the care you need!!

  66. Paula says:

Just catching up and sorry to hear you're not well. Hope you are on the mend and getting plenty of rest. Your sparkle is missed.

  67. Katy Cameron says:

Aww, sorry to hear you've been de-glazed :o( Hopefully your sparkle will come back fully at the faster end of the spectrum…
