I would add Sparking Shiraz to your Palate (a deep peppery purple), as I love to add contrast to my quilts and would use sparkling thread to quilt it.
(Anyway Sparkling Shiraz is a much nicer drop than Merlot LOL)
    Hugs Jeannie

  2. Maryse says:

Your palette is perfect of course…But maybe I would add a bit of Kona Yarrow or Kona Butterscotch.

Some more thoughts about this. Why yellow? I don't particularly like yellows, I am not a yellow person at all. But yellows bring light and warmth to a composition and makes other colors stand out. I always (almost) use a bit of yellows in my quilts (ochre, mustard, citron). You don't have to use much, a bit goes a long way…And I would totally use Kona Snow on top of that. That's how I would make it my own…:-)

I adore Kona Snow. Is there other backgrounds?

  4. Love the idea of a reversible quilt, and the people palette is just adorable (must have been the red hat eh?) I will look for the magazine here, let's hope the friendly neighborhood Chapters has a copy! (they sometimes have Aussie mags, fingers crossed!)

  5. Ohh I need to do a Coles run too! Congratulations!!

  6. Paul Burega says:

The palette is lacking some glitter! And given that selfie, I think some Grunge Basics Ocean by Moda.

But I really would love to see the pattern. I don't often see "Down Under Quilts" here in the Boston, USA. (paulburega at gmail dot com).

  7. SewPsyched! says:

Here in AK. We don't get many quilt mags, so Down Under would be very welcome, indeed! I love your palette but would add even more sparkliciousness with a navy shimmer!!

  8. Natiljus by Paulin Machado. Never heard of it? I bought it at Ikea a few weeks ago but it doesn't seem to exist. Not on their website, won't Google. I'm stumped and I'm trying to see if anyone knows anything about it. I blogged about it but my reader pool is small. My commenters love it but don't know anything about it. It would be bold and striking with your palette. White background that blends perfectly with Kona Snow covered in nested bold black leaves.

  9. Pip says:

I like the palette as it is, perhaps I would add Kona Nautical or Nightfall and a bit of Caramel to sweeten it up.

  10. The O's says:

ORANGE! It needs orange… nuf said.

  11. Becky G says:

Purple…bright, clear purple. Or an intense red-orange.

  12. Anne says:

WOOHOO! Your quilt looks fantastic. 😀 Congratulations on making it into the magazine!
Also I really loved the people palette idea, and the Molli palette is really striking. 🙂

  13. Wendy says:

I'm thinking a lemon yellow, but only a dash of it

  14. super nice quilt, and that background choice!!

  15. mommabee says:

Kona scone, an earthy gold, just like the colour on the brick over your left ear 🙂

  16. Kathy S. says:

Congrats on being published! Awesome. I would add school bus yellow. That's my favorite and I think it makes everything happier.

  17. Tangerine to give it a kiss of Soleil.

  18. Lisa R says:

Congrats! Wish we could get the magazine here in the states…but wait.. do they have digital? Must investigate… Kona Latte, because everything is better with coffee…

  19. Congratulations on being published and for being the first ever People Palette feature! Your On the Flip Side is gorgeous! For the palette addition… I would suggest some Kona Earth.

  20. Cecilia says:

Congratulations! I would add orange for some zest.

  21. Fran says:

Congrats on your work being published (again!). I think I'd add some Kona Silver, just a little for contrast. Thanks for the chance to win a copy of the magazine.

  22. Royal Blue to match the color around the neck and some white. Congratulations on being published. 24Tangent@gmail.com

  23. Gail says:

I would add a smattering of yellow/gold for a bit of glitz.

  24. Kate says:

    I'd add a nice red-orange!

  25. I think that Charcoal needs to be swapped for Kona Silver… things seem a little dark on that palette. Mind you, if Kona had a shade called Glitter….

  26. Molli, both you and your palette with the Kona snow addition are too delicious to improve upon!

  27. JAB says:

All of those folks saying orange obviously are delusional. Crimson is there, Kona Snow makes a lovely Cream. Boomer Sooner!

  28. Deb says:

I might add a tan pulled from the bricks on the right…otherwise the color choices are beautiful! Congrats on being published!

  29. I'd like to see something with a strong contract.. a yellow perhaps.. RBG #f7e5b3 maybe

  30. kimberj says:

I would add either an orange or burgundy 🙂

  31. Kathy says:

How about a color to match your t-shirt collar?

  32. Maybe some nightfall??? Thanks for the chance to be a winner:)

  33. I looked at my own colour chart and decided to share the Kona Garnet 🙂

  34. I would add a silvery-grey, to give it a light sparkle!
Thanks so much for the giveaway,
    Jacqueline in Pitt Meadows

  35. I love those colours but a touch of lime green would be yummy.

  36. i love the contrast of white

  37. Gina says:

I love those colours together but it needs a little bit of Kona Silver.

  38. Naomi says:

Gold definitely. A golden yellow would be fabulous!

  39. Farm Quilter says:

Maybe a touch of Kona Corn for a bit of sparkle?? My little LQS doesn't get Down Under Quilts…ROAD TRIP to see if I can find it!! I'd love to take a big trip down under to pick it up 🙂

  40. Kay says:

Well Kona Snow is my go to fabric for just about anything but to add some zing to the palette I would include the new Goldfish. Thanks for a great giveaway, i would love a copy of this magazine which we don't get here in England. x

  41. anne says:

Pink pink and more pink…..ok just a touch of pink.

  42. Kathy E. says:

My signature color is purple, so that's my choice for an additional color. I try to put a bit of purple into everything I make just to personalize it.

  43. Kathy says:

I would ad a splash of yellow

  44. I think a little K001-1154 GOLD from Kona is needed. I can see it on the right hand side of your head. Gold sparkles, doesn't it?

  45. Cathy Whitby says:

Congratulations! I will be looking for the magazine my next trip to Coles.

  46. Congrats on the magazine feature. That's so amazing. 🙂 And I love that selfie, the color palette is awesome, I think I might add just a little bit of light cream….it's peaking out from under your cap, and would love to join the party.
