The feathers quilt will be gorgeous in those shimmery fabrics!

  2. That is a lot of snow! You need a snowplow? 🙂
I have bought a mini-scoop of Kona Snow and it arrived last week! I am so looking forward to cut into it!
I wish you more lovely shopping,
    Esther

  3. I love the AMH feathers pattern! I think it's time for your to get some colour cards 🙂

  4. One Wee Bird says:

ooooh Toga Partay here you come!!!

  5. Carol Q says:

It will look gorgeous draped round your naked body! lol

  6. Auntie Pami says:

First thought was toga, toga, toga. Sorry about the color thing. Sounds like you need an art gallery, Moda, etc. Color card collection.

  7. Katy Cameron says:

What they all said about the colour cards ;o)

Still, one can never have too much white (as long as one has plenty of shelf space…)

  8. Sheryl says:

And if you have ever seen the Bella solids in Snow, they are a very soft cream colour. I try not to think too much on the names and instead try to look at colour swatches or the colour descriptions when it comes to solids.

  9. Yes, one really needs a fabric card on hand for all the various solid lines because there's quite a bit of difference. But I think as far as the real color of snow, I come down on the Art Gallery side ; )

  10. Julie says:

I'm right there with you on the variations of "snow". You should see Moda snow next to these two. It looks really yellow – like snow you wouldn't want anywhere near a quilt.

  11. Anja says:

Don't you just hate it when you don't receive what you had in mind. That's what I don't buy online very often.

  12. leanne says:

been there done that so I've now decided that colour cards are essential ! but on the bright side AGF does feel so good on naked skin !!

  13. Is this a visual you will post in the near future?

  14. Well, I always love a good roll in the snow. Shoot some my way if you're in too deep, lol!
    Have fun with the commission.
Oh – and FTR, Kona Snow and Bella Snow are also completely different. :s

  15. Farm Quilter says:

Personally, I think 10 yards of fabric is way too much to swath around your body. I'm sure Mr. Sparkles would agree with me!! I believe he would prefer maybe a 1/4 yard cut??? Thanks for the great idea to use my 25 FQ collection of Shimmer for such a fabulous quilt! And the pattern for the Feather quilt is free too! I won the Shimmer FQ Collection and I won a bolt of Kona Ash (well, it was $150 gift certificate to FQ Shop and one of the things I got was the bolt of Kona Ash) – total score!!!

  16. Oh those pesky fabric namers. Why can't they just get along? This (rather wordy) article might give you an idea of why one person's snow isn't the same as another's – http://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/inuit-words-for-snow-and-ice/ Hee hee hee!
