WIP Wednesday – Can I Buy A Vowel?
I’m trying to do a whole basket-weaving-class-full of things before the Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair. One of them is making this mini quilt out of paper pieced letters. I’m definitely no paper piecing expert (I’ll leave that to Quiet Play), but I think I’m managing. I downloaded this alphabet pattern from From Blank Pages, and it’s been pretty straightforward. Well, until last night when I got to the letter “S” and there are like 39 pieces, and I have to make two of them! Time consuming, but I’m getting there. This is only my second time paper piecing, and at the very least, I can see the potential for using all of my scraps!
So much more to do! I need twelve more hands, and maybe another brain or two! Workin’ it, like I’m workin’ a pole!
Give me an a, give me an e, give me an i….. you are doing very well. 🙂 xx
hmm.. that last word has me temporarily puzzled… fun with ??? I'll get back to you!
yep I got it… begins and ends with S…
Hahaha pole!! It's looking good, good luck with your 'ss'!

Innit?
Great stuff! Letters seem to becoming a bit of a trend, maybe time to loose my fear of them…..Look forward to seeing the end result, for more letter inspiration 😉
I admire your stamina Ms Sparkles.
Haha – in my head this said "fun with pancakes"!
omg lol thanks to the comments, coz the first word wasnt "fun" for me lol, I wont say what I thought haha
love your letters
Yep I was seeing pancakes to
Awesome! I have this same pattern and I used it to piece a name on the back of a baby's quilt. I love the ability to personalize something like that. Your letters look good!
That was fun- Do another one! Looking good so far!
You see why I suggested doing the Ss last. 😉 I just hit the S in my project, did half of it and decided I needed to go do something else for a while. lol These are looking awesome! I think at this point we can say you're a paper-piecing pro. 😀
Your letters look great so far! I like the magenta and white.
Nothing like paper piecing to give you such crisp seams. Thanks for the link to the letters. I'm sure they'll come in handy! Too funny that I saw just the same letters on someone else's blog (though do you think I can remember where?) just this week!
Your letters are looking great. Love the start constrast int he colours – it's defintiely going to sparkle!
