Sunday Stash #76 – Random Tidbits

I have recently felt like I’ve been getting a bit overwhelmed by all this incoming fabric! It’s a blessing and a curse, I tell you what! These latest two stash additions are some random tidbits I’ve picked up over the past few weeks. The first was from the lovely Kate Quilts from her stall at the Australian Modern Quilt Show. I’m sure most of you will recognise these, but if you aren’t in tune with designer fabric (get to it!), these are from Carolyn Freidlander’s Botanics collection.
The second bit of fabric is from Pat Bravo’s Carnaby St range. This is that mystery background fabric I am using for my Shudder quilt. So many people have asked or commented about that fabric! I was running a bit short, so I had to order a half yard from Hawthorne Threads, and it finally arrived last week. The shuddering can now continue!

When those Botanics prints came out (the brighter ones, not the quieter ones) I wasn't really sold on them, but they've grown on me ridiculously and I keep wondering why I never bought more of it. The colours would certainly fill some empty(ish) spaces in my stash which doesn't *really* need too much filling, but I just keep on not buying it.

That Carnaby Street print is one of my favourites from that line… I've only got I think one 5" by WOF strip of it, which I think will go into my Gypsy Wife quilt, but it's such a great print.

I know it's hard, but if you see it, love it, don't buy it, you'll want it later and pay through the nose for it. Architextures is being reprinted and released next month, but, not all. Sad.

Botanics! My favorite line! Carolyn Friedlander really did an awesome job topping Architextures. Kate is my "quilt mama" I met her online through a social netowrking site, and she encouraged be to start quilting. She holds a very special place in my heart.

  14. I love those fabrics! Beautiful.
