Sunday Stash #69 – Blue & Burgundy

Remember when I said this year was all about being fabric neutral? Well, I’ll be a monkey’s gay uncle, because I don’t think I can sew fast enough to keep up with my ever-growing stash! I’ll tell you I hate it, but you know I lurve it! So far this year though, I’m still contained to my four boxes, and I haven’t added a single piece of fabric I’m not thrilled to have.
Alyce at Blossom Heart Quilts sent these pieces to me from her local Yukawaya. Those airplanes are going to be fabuloso in that one-of-these-goddamn-days quilts for Mr. Sparkles!

My #NGAQB-mate, Nicholas from Quilts from the Attic, and I did a fabric swap recently. I sent him some Joli Pomme that I sourced in Japan, and he sent me these magic mushrooms (Tina Givens’s, Riddles and Rhymes) that he sourced in Denmark. A fully international love affair!

Now, this is just all sorts of ridiculous. But remember last week when I told you about my new fabric shop find, Patchwork on Pittwater? Well, I came home that day and my friend Sarah O suggested I like their Facebook page. Well, most definitely, of course, why not, right? So I do so, only to discover that I was their 200th like, and thereby won a fat quarter bundle! Obvs a bit bias right now, but I’ll definitely be swinging back that way!

This burgundy bundle has some Art Gallery Oval Elements, Acacia by Tula Pink, and three fat quarters from Dowry by AMH. Who by the way, I have tried so hard up to this point not to fall victim to her charms, but I may be caving! So those are my stash additions; I do hope some of you fabric fasters have fallen off the bandwagon so I’m not standing in the spotlight alone!
A small bit of house keeping: I will be hosting Sunday Stash here for the next week or so, but I will be announcing sign-ups for guest hosts very soon.

  3. Love the aeroplane fabric!

Well you are the reason I broke my fabric fast big time LOL. And as far as I'm concerned, if you have the money to spare and a stash filled with fabrics you love then go shopping ūüėČ

  5. Congrats on your lucky win, Molli! Better invest some of what you have set aside for stash, in the kayak, for sure!

Ha ha, I love that you've shifted the goalposts to 'contained in the same boxes' :oD

I have become rather obsessive about Ms AMH. My collection is growing by the month and I will be damned if I don't have some Dowry soon! Great score!

  8. Congrats on the win! And especially love the airplanes : )

  9. Fun prints! I can't deny my love for all things AMH I would buy it all and the t-shirt if I could ūüėČ

I've gone totally, completely, batshit insane with fabric over the last quarter (charitable time frame), and I'm getting ready to try to destash some stuff. I wish I could part with more. Thank god I'm not an AMH, TP, or HR devotee. (Though I do have my fair share . . . .)

  11. I love the mushroom fabric! Great movement in it! I haven't been able to get into the AMH fabrics yet. I see them and can't picture how or where I'd use them. Then I see other people's completed projects with her fabric and I'm in love with how it looks. I can't wait to see what you create with them!

  12. Those airplanes and mushrooms are pretty awesome. I haven't made my Mr. a quilt yet either. Someday soon! Nice stashin'!

  13. Stop resisting AMH– she's just too talented. And it's not all floral!
