Your grandma looks adorable – I love her quilt. That tulip in the last shot is an amazing colour especially against the green.

I'm not looking! I'm not looking! I'm not looking! …no new projects until I make a significant dent in my WIP's… I'm not looking! I'm not looking! …but it's so scrapilicious, and rainbowy and SPARKLY… I'm not looking! I'm not looking! I'm not looking! …it's not really a NEW project if I make it from stash, right? RIGHT?!?!… I'm not looking! I'm not looking! …damn, I looked, onto the list it goes…

Love Grandma's quilt – amazing how quick you completed it! I should have mine finished up this weekend, but I'll be sending mine out for machine quilting. LOVE the tulip, what a beautiful color and how could it NOT make you smile! 🙂

So speedy, congrats to you both. Not sure how or why but I decided my #MSBHQAL wasn't big enough so I've added another row and column, started a smart plan for the back today and it will be too big for the top so might enlarge it again! What has happened to me?!!

Oooh! Yay! Gorgeous! I imagine there was also champagne to celebrate this finish? 🙂

  6. Cheers to all the sparkles!

Great team work there. What a great souvenir to take home from Australia!

What fun you all are having. Seriously, you should open a B & B for us Yanks to come visit/be entertained/be inspired with all your sparkliness! 🙂

I love the blocks. I love the pinwheel and color order 🙂

Lovely quilt top. I am thinking of having mine long arm quilted too, because it's so big. I was thinking of an all over pattern, but I'm not sure. I will post the finished top on flickr this weekend. Cheers!

Go Grandma Sparkles! You guys jammed through that quilt. Maybe you can come visit me in California and help me finish mine too, ha, ha! Love the quilt!

  14. Jessica says:

beautiful! I double tap all your broken herringbone blocks on Instagram but I hadn't been to the blog in a while. The blocks really play so well together! You're lucky to have Grandma Sparkles to quilt with, I asked my grandma to quilt with me a few years back but she said she didn't want a sit-down hobby– said she needed to keep moving. So she golfs and line dances while I make all the quilts. Who knows, maybe one day I'll get too old for quilting too? Hope not.
Thanks for sharing your great pics~

  15. This whole post made me smile 🙂

  16. I have so enjoyed all of your posts and pictures of Grandma Sparkles. It makes me wish she were my Grandma! LOL What a finish, her HB quilt is fantastic!!

  17. Wow! You and Grandma Sparkles have that pedal to the metal! At that speed you could start taking orders for purchase. Cheers! Don't let your bubbles go flat!

  18. Yeah! What a great post! Quilt with Grandma (which is stunning), champagne and a perfect tulip! I am smiling too!

I'm having visions of smoke coming out of that needle as Grandma S's blocks were assembled! I'd like my own personal cutter and presser too though, is she available on commission?

  20. Love seeing the pics of Sydney. I've visited four times – even taught quilting there! – and pictures always make me want to go back. Badly. Sydney is a beautiful city, and Australia is a gorgeous country, with charming people.
