I can see someone has been in a vomit swap…. LOVE it Molli!

I totally thought you were going to say you elected to stash the sewing machine to spend more time with your man. Ha! Always surprises with you 😉

Hey Molli – I totally agree about no-reply bloggers. So sad 🙁 I have been having the same issue recently, which is why I decided to post some instructions on how to stop being a no-reply blogger on my blog today. I think the answer for WordPress bloggers is to set up a blogger account – it doesn't mean you have to actually have a blogger blog – and use that for commenting on blogger blogs. That is what I did before I started blogging, when I was still a lurker and sometimes commenter! This comment is brought to you by the letter "B" and the word "blog".
P.S. When Diego has finished setting up your machine, can you send him my way? I have a poultice of housework to do and he sounds like just the man.

Well some people never learn about the no-reply business – they don't even go to trouble changeing it if you tell them …
If you didn't do any sewing all week – how come you have been withholding those nice blocks from us?
Bees are great … though I hate always having to wait for ages .. darn international shipping …
It almost sounds like replying to comments is work – I think it's the nicest part of the whole blog thing, getting to talk with the commenters (well the ones that leave a comment you can actually respond to, more than just "that's nice")
Ha you are lucky my ramblings have to come to an end – I need to run …

I love my quilty friends and have met some lovely ones lately. But I also found this fine fellow today – is he a friend of yours? http://www.amazon.com/Accoutrements-12283-Magical-Unicorn-Mask/dp/B0070QMUFA

I could use a 'Diego' at my place (just in case you run out of things for him to do, I wouldn't want him sitting around with nothing to do, getting in your way or anything!).

Oh and sorry, but I tried going without word verification and got hammered with spam so I had to put it back on. Maybe I just attract a spammy kind of crowd, I don't know!

Yes ma'am! To be fair, the comments sign-in feature does not work well on an iPad. But I have been "living" (really loving) your posts – and recently told Danielle she had to start following!

[waving back] hey hey, new BFF! I hate to break it to you, but it's an exercise in futility to try to get people to fix the no-reply blogger sitch. I had a friend trying for years, across numerous posts, to instruct people on how to update their blogger profile to no avail. She finally had me migrate her blog from blogger to WordPress because she'd had it. Shoot me an e-mail if you want more details! xo

I think some people are afraid to turn of the no reply status because they are scared of getting a load of spam message. For others it's the fact that it's the default setting on Blogger (I think) and they just don't ever think to change it, know how to change or are too scared to change a single setting for fear something breaks. It's a shame not to be able to reply to them.
    Lovin' that block btw.

What folks need to know is there are ways to keep the spam down without word verification. You can deny access to anonymous comments for one, or you can set it up so you have to approve a comment before it appears. I hate word verification and don't leave comments on blogs that have it. That's my rule. Love your bee blocks. They are indeed super!

If were just talking about stuff today – I have a question for you… I'm at a sewing convention this weekend and I've seen thousands of people and not one of them was a man. I postulated with my friend that any man that arrived would pretty much find himself the center of attention. Does that happen to you at shows? Are the ladies drawn to you like a bug to light?

  12. The no-reply blogger thing is tricky. I'm a crazy WordPress heathen and it took me awhile to figure out why I was never getting email responses. (Now I comment with a separate Blogger account. Not ideal, but it seems to work.)

I totally, totally agree on the relationships thing. I have put a lot of time into commenting and replying to comments and Instagramming and Flickring this past week, and it has all been so worth it. It's not (all) about pageviews, it's about emails and conversations, and making connections with other people who love fabric. 🙂

I had never even noticed if I was a NRB! I just checked and changed my settings, hopefully it's working now (if not, someone please let me know!). Ta for the tip.

  14. Sarah_L_N says:

I think wordpress makes you no-reply and you can't do anything about it. Plus if you are all set up right for replies and join Google+ it then changes you to no-reply. I haven't had that problem personally, like I need yet another social networking thing to eat away my time! I'm not even going to think about how many I have right now… Something I've seen recently to stop spam is a tick box, so you comment and check the box to say you aren't a spammer, easy to do on a phone! And I also thought you were going to say you'd put your sewing machine away to spend time with Mr Sparkles!

So glad Diego is there with you, but I'd love for you to send him my way! I don't understand why Blogger and WordPress can't get along. This whole, separate but equal thing is so last century. By the way, I finished my pillow using your tutorial and my guest bed will always have a little Molli Sparkle on it. Thank God.

    Have a great weekend,
    Ashley

I might have been a no reply blogger, but that should be fixed now if I was. Thanks for posting & for always having a great blog.

Does Diego give massages too? That would make him perfect!

I know you can link WordPress accounts up to google or something, but god knows how. Now if you've finished with the house boy, can you send him over please?
