Wow, that is yellow! But I love it! Great job! Yes quilting is certainly something you need to practice isn't it! lol But hey, like you said, it is your first quilt so don't expect perfection yet! Maybe by your second huh? lol We expect too much from ourselves I think. Cut yourself some slack! It's going to be great & your list of tips is awesome! Looking forward to seeing a completed picture soon! Don't rush it!

  2. I love the colors in your quilt! And I totally agree with your thoughts on quilting! I am amazed at how tricky sewing straight lines seems to be!

The fabrics are great and no one will ever notice crooked lines as much as the quilter does.

Ditto what heather said. Embrace the wonk!

Seriously, no one notices the mistakes as much as the quilter does. My sister received one of the first cushion covers I made, and my points totally didn't match up, but even after I pointed them out to her, she looked at me funny and told me I was crazy. (And trust me, my sister is plenty honest and blunt, so she would have told me if she thought it looked bad!)

Your quilt top is lovely, and this first quilt will always hold a special place in your heart. I know my first quilt does! 🙂

Haha, I have read The Yellow Wallpaper, and I assure you, your yellow isn't nearly as freaky as that story. Great job on getting your first sandwiching and bit of quilting done! I totally know what you mean about absolutely loathing that first line of quilting. I did the same thing on my first quilt too. You'll get much better with practice, I promise. Even from my first quilt to my second quilt, I improved way more than I thought I would. And you're also right that you should ALWAYS be proud of it. You're making a quilt for cheese sake. Great work!

Your quilt looks magnificent. I really enjoy the combination of colors.

Great check list for future quilting endeavors.

Best of luck with finishing this quilt. Looking forward to seeing the finished quilt.
